How many miles have you done on your e-bike?

I'm always interested to hear how many miles people manage to clock up on their e-bikes, particularly those that have been used regularly for several years.

So, how many miles have you done on yours?

It could be 500 miles, 5,000 miles or 20,000+ miles. Let us know what bike you've got, how long you've owned it and what you mainly use it for.

It would also be interesting to hear how it's held up. Have you had any problems with the motor or battery? Have you needed to replace anything beyond normal consumables such as chains, cassettes, brake pads and tyres?

High-mileage e-bikes are particularly interesting because there's still a lot of uncertainty around how long motors and batteries actually last in real-world use.

I'll add some of my own experiences below.

I bought this 2022 Trek Verve+ 2 from Facebook Marketplace last year for the bargain price of £275. It has a Bosch Performance Line motor and a 500Wh battery, so why was it so cheap?

The previous owner had used it every day and clocked up a staggering 20,000 miles in just three years.

Despite the mileage, it had been very well looked after and regularly serviced. The Bosch motor was still smooth and quiet, and I could still squeeze around 50 miles from the original battery when using the assistance sensibly.

It was a good example of why mileage alone doesn't necessarily tell you much about the condition of a used e-bike. A well-maintained, high-mileage bike can sometimes be a much better buy than a low-mileage bike that's been neglected.
