E-bikes can be quite hard on chains and cassettes, particularly mid-drive bikes where all the motor power is going through the drivetrain.

I've found there's a huge difference depending on the bike, riding conditions and how well the drivetrain is looked after. Hilly riding, winter grime and changing gear under load certainly don't help.

I'm interested to know what sort of mileage people are getting from their chains.

How often do you replace yours?

Do you measure chain wear and replace it early, or just keep riding until shifting starts to deteriorate?

It would also be useful to know what motor you're using, whether it's hub or mid-drive, and roughly what mileage you're getting from a chain.
