Scam Warning to All Members
On 15 September, we became aware that a scammer had created an account and was sending phishing messages to some EbikeSeller members while pretending to represent EbikeSeller.co.uk.
Fortunately, members quickly alerted us to the suspicious messages. The offending account and messages have now been removed, and the account has been blocked.
There is no indication that EbikeSeller itself was compromised. The scammer appears to have used a normal user account to contact members and direct them to a fraudulent external website.
As a relatively new website and growing community, security is something we take very seriously. Following this incident, we've strengthened our safeguards to make this type of activity more difficult, and we'll continue to review and improve them where necessary.
Please remember: EbikeSeller will never send you a private message asking you to make a payment, provide login details, or verify your account through an external website.
If you receive a suspicious message, notice an unusual account, or see anything else that doesn't look right, please report it to us immediately.
