Where’s the best place to sell a used e-bike in the UK?
Selling a used e-bike isn't as straightforward as selling a normal bike, particularly if you want to reach buyers outside your local area.
Now that eBay makes it impossible for private sellers to list used e-bikes, Facebook Marketplace is probably the obvious choice, and I've bought and sold many e-bikes through it myself. The big advantage is that it's free and there are plenty of buyers, although you do have to deal with the usual time-wasters and suspicious messages.
Local bike shops and trade-in services are another option, although you're unlikely to get as much as you would from a private sale.
Where have you had the most success selling used e-bikes?
Is Facebook Marketplace still the best option, or have you had better results elsewhere?
I'm also interested in what puts people off when selling privately. Is it dealing with buyers, payment, arranging collection/delivery, or simply knowing what the bike is worth?
